Inspire me Monday 3

This little beauty was given last rites. Literally thrown in the trash and given to me by a friend. A customer had returned this- it's leaves as wrinkly as green elephants knees and seemingly no hope. And yet a year later this. My friend knows I have a particular brand of benign neglect that plants respond to. She can see beyond the immediate illusions and see the hidden potential. Look for it. In Things, In Friends, In Family, don't give up on them especially when they're counted out, or don't do things the way others expect. Harsh criticism won't do a thing. Try an I've been there and this worked for me. You can only speak from what you know. Or I don't know, but I'll be glad to make the journey with you. If you're one artist to another try a nudge in a different but related vein. Growing friends and family really isn't that hard, it's just a matter of caring and give and take. Why is love the easiest and most difficult thing to give?

Rainy day lilies

They do what they do, regardless of the weather. They increase every year, bindweed doen't seem to bother them. Orange, abundant and I had to have them when I moved here. I got the originals from Mom & Dad's.

Inspire Me Mondays 2

This wonderful persistant hosta has been trying to grow in the cracks of the next door neighbor's foundation since last summer. It's survived an unpleasant Buffalo Winter with nothing more than some dead leaves and ice build up. I shall move it to some where else that it can reach it's full potential. Me with the problem with barriers and needing to get beyond this.. it's a good thing. We both can survive and flourish.

Inspire Me Monday #1 The Human Hand

Ok, this is the third try at the woids for this. Thursday is better late than never. This is my hand. It's also Mom's and Dad's hand. My brothers and sister also share it too. I've been told it can be seen everywhere on the streets of London. It has my roots, my present and my way to my future. I just need to start using it to create it more actively.

Blank Page

Uh, what do I write, what do I draw? A blank page is always the most intimidating thing for a creative person. It can be anything and everything. It can be about your Gramma's phlegmy cough in the grocery store 2 aisles over- you could always keep track of where she was that way... Or a single contour line can describe your lover's butt that you still want to take a bite out of every now and then. Most of all it's about you. And how you see the world- every word, every mark on the page, even photos tell something about you. They are all in a sense self portraits. They are all about choices. Past & Present. Subconsciously, most of the time your Freudian Slip is showing. I'm looking for unconventional answers so I better start asking unconventional questions. All in the sake of what do I want to do when I grow up? Oops, sorry, let's re-think. What do I want to do so I never have to grow up? That's better. So the combination of the unconventional questions and learning more about my inner workings and special powers hopefully with my friends and families help I can fill this blank page
and lots of others.
